The club who came up with ‘the Poznan’ celebration have sent Noel Gallagher a replica shirt in recognition of Oasis encouraging their fans to do it throughout their world tour.
The celebration – which involves fans turning their backs to the action, linking arms and bouncing up and down – was adopted by Manchester City, the club Noel and his brother Liam support – in 2010 after a Europa League match against Lech Poznan.
In turn, Oasis frontman Liam has encouraged fans attending all their shows to do ‘the Poznan’.
Now, Lech have written to Noel and sent him a club shirt.

The older Gallagher brother posted about the club’s gesture on X and wrote: “Thanks to all at Lech Poznan. It’s been THE highlight of the night all over the world. Even (Manchester) United fans have been doing it!! UP THE BLUES.”
The Lech Poznan shirt has Gallagher’s name on the back and the number 12, which the club said was “reserved for the fans – our twelfth player”.
In a letter accompanying the shirt, the club wrote: “We’ve seen the recordings from your concerts where you encourage Oasis fans to join in and do ‘the Poznan’ – and we have to say, it really makes a huge impression!
“Perhaps one day you would like to visit our city as well – either to play a show here or to experience first hand the unique atmosphere of a Lech match at our stadium.
“Please feel free to wear the jersey, share it, or simply keep it as a small token of connection between you and our club.”
