Wealdstone pick up vital point at Sutton

Wealdstone moved a point clear of the National League relegation zone as Kallum Cesay’s scrappy equaliser salvaged a 2-2 draw at Sutton.

Sutton came from behind to take the lead with a pair of fine goals either side of half-time, Lewis Simper lashing a drilled effort into the bottom corner just before the break and Will Davies bending in a superb finish from 25 yards.

Wealdstone had gone ahead after Enzio Boldewijn’s header was parried out to Josh Grant, who nodded home his first for the club.

And they drew level when Cesay’s header squirmed in from Anthony Georgiou’s cross, taking them just clear of fourth-bottom Maidenhead.
