Altrincham returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Southend in the National League.
They went in front just eight minutes into the game when Alex Newby squared a pass into Joe Nuttall, who fired home from close-range.
Matty Kosylo had a shot blocked before Nuttall had a brilliant opportunity, but Zach Jeacock made a solid save and the goalkeeper made another good stop to deny Regan Linney.
Although Aribim Pepple nearly pulled one back for Southend when his shot smashed off the bar, the Robins were the next to strike when Newby’s low effort rolled under Jeacock in the 42nd minute.
Pepple had some good opportunities after the break, including a header that flashed wide of the post, but Altrincham were able to see the game out.
