TOMMY BARRETT has further strengthen his Treaty United squad for the 2024 SSE Airtricity League First Division season with the signing of Galway United defender Oisin O'Reilly.

He joins the club after two seasons with the Tribesmen having played his underage football with both Athlone Town and Sligo Rovers. O'Reilly made his League of Ireland debut for Athlone in 2020.

The talented defender made 27 appearances for Galway during his two seasons with the club and becomes Treaty's 10th signing in the off-season.

He follows Evan O'Connor to make the move from Galway to Treaty in recent days. O'Connor signed for Treaty before Christmas. O'Connor also spent two seasons with Galway.

O'Connor has had League of Ireland spells with both Longford Town and Athlone, before a brief stint with Limerick District League side Regional United.

"I think Evan will be a good signing," Barrett told the Treaty United website. "He’s been full-time for the last two years with Galway.

"He can play right back or centre back which adds to our defensive options and is a big boost after the loss of Andy Spain to Kerry, who we send our best wishes.

"He’s a big, strong, physical lad and has got good ability too. He’ll be training two nights a week with us and, thanks to an arrangement with Galway United, will be doing a bit with them during the week as he’s based up there, so he’ll be practically still training full-time which is great."

The following have been confirmed as Treaty United men's players for the 2024 campaign.

Ben O’Riordan

Lee Devitt

Yoyo Mahdy

Enda Curran

Willie Armshaw

Mark Walsh

Colin Conroy

Corey Chambers

Evan O’Connor

Oisin O’Reilly
