Dundee’s home game against Aberdeen was called off about an hour before kick-off to become the second cinch Premiership casualty of the wet weather.
The game between Ross County and Hibernian was earlier postponed after a 10am pitch inspection with the surface at the Global Energy Stadium deemed unplayable because of a waterlogged pitch.
Dundee announced after 2pm that their game had been called off by referee David Munro.

A short statement read: “Due to persistent heavy rain this afternoon’s match against Aberdeen has been called off. The referee deeming that the goalmouth area of the pitch is unplayable. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to supporters.”
Aberdeen added: “Our game with Dundee this afternoon has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and concerns over player safety.”
Aberdeen chief executive Alan Burrows expressed his “bitter disappointment” over the circumstances.
Writing on his X social media account, Burrows said: “Desperately sorry for every Dons fan (we had sold out the Bob Shankley Stand with over 3,000 due to be there) who made the trip to Dundee, only for the game to be called off just before 2pm.

“We checked with our opponents earlier in the morning and were assured the pitch was fine.
“It was therefore a surprise and bitter disappointment that we’ve ultimately not got a game to play.
“Games going off at this time of year isn’t the biggest issue (albeit with the calendar so congested, it’s not helpful in the slightest). Giving supporters as much notice, even as a precaution, as possible should be absolutely paramount.
“Collectively, we’ve got to be much, much better. Sorry once again to all those who have bought tickets and made the journey.”
❗️We are looking for volunteers to help clear the snow off the pitch ahead of this afternoon’s match against Edinburgh City.

Cove Rangers managed to get their League 1 game against Edinburgh City on after volunteers helped clear snow off the pitch.
The Aberdeen-based club offered free entry to “anyone who can provide a helping hand with a snow shovel”.
The game eventually kicked off half an hour late.
