IN PICTURES: Crowds brave weather to watch Premier 'A' league soccer

HYDE ROVERS got the better of Aishling Annacotty in the Premier 'A' league over the weekend with a 2-1 victory in testing conditions.

Annacotty who were the home side were barely settled when Evan Shine fired Hyde in front. Aisling made the mistake of giving the Hyde talisman space and he duly punished them with a low shot from 25 yards to the bottom corner.

Aisling responded promptly and a superb save by Kyrin McGarry denied Kai Joyce an equaliser.

The game was levelled up midway through the second half when Shane Donegan was not closed down and delivered a sweet shot to the roof of the Hyde net from 20 yards.

The game was nip and tuck when Hyde struck the winner. Evan Shine’s inswinging corner kick was met perfectly by Jonatan Somers who headed powerfully home from close range.
