Limerick trio selected on Republic of Ireland U16 womens squad

THREE players with Limerick roots have been selected to represent Ireland on the U16 women's squad ahead of their international friendly against England this week. 

Madison McGuane, Aibhlinn Cotter, Kate Jones and  have all be named in the squad by head coach Tom Elmes.

Cotter who is from Kilrush and Jones from Bunratty in Clare, both play their club soccer with Treaty Utd while highly rated Limerick teenager Madison McGuane features for Pike Rovers. 

All three girls have played for Ireland up along in their U15 squads before moving up the age-groups. 

The team will play an international friendly against England's U16 team on Wednesday, October 25 in St Georges Park in England with kick-off at 1:00pm.

Goalkeepers: Jenna Willoughby (Shelbourne), Laura Fanning (Shamrock Rovers)
Defenders: Abigail Bradshaw (Peamount United), Aibhlinn Cotter (Treaty United), Camille Adams (Charlton Athletic), Emma Gaughran (Shelbourne), Kaitlyn Delahunty (Shamrock Rovers), Kate Jones (Treaty United), Michaela Hand (Athlone Town), Sophia Leonard (Arsenal)
Midfielders: Aoife Sheridan (Shelbourne), Ava Mullins (Galway United), Beatrice Silckaite (Shelbourne), Heather Loomes (Galway United), Lauren Bowe (Reading), Madison McGuane (Pike Rovers)
Forwards: Aisling Meehan (DLR Waves), Katie Ray (Shelbourne), Anna Butler (DLR Waves) Lily Anne O'Meara (Wexford Youths), Ella Kelly (DLR Waves), Leah McGrath (Wexford Youths)
