AFTER THE first month of the Basketball Ireland national league all four Limerick teams have had their first losses.
In the InsureMyVan.ie men's division one both Limerick Sport Eagles and Limerick Celtics has comprehensive wins on the road over the weekend.
Eagles traveled to Killarney to face Cougars last Saturday and came away with a 107-93 victory. Once again their American signings Kealan Coats and Dakquan Davis racked up the most points scored with 31 and 25 points each.
Spanish player Ignacio Forlgueiras also had an impressive game scoring a further 17 points.
An impressive second quarter from the Limerick Celtics men's team saw them pull away from opponents, Titans BC, to come away with a 90-71 win.
The win marked a good overall team performance with more than five players contributing to the scoreboard and Michael Hood leading the charge with 33 points.
In the MissQuote.ie women's national league Limerick Sport Huskies suffered their first loss of the season to a strong St Pauls Killarney.
After an impressive start of the season, Huskies fell short to the Kerry side loosing on a scoreline of 94-57 struggling to score more than 20 points in each quarter.
Limerick Celtics women's team on the other hand beat SETU Carlow 83-65 away in the Barrow center on Sunday.
Home grown talent Lucy Devoy was one of the top scorers for the team with 23 points alongside American athlete Samantha Coleman on 35 points.
