THREE OUT of the four Limerick national league basketball teams are on the road this weekend as they try to gain some momentum in the season.
After a double derby weekend it is Limerick Sport Eagles and Huskies that now have the bragging rights over Limerick Celtics after wins in both the men's and women's games.
In the MissQuote.ie womens national league Limerick Sport Huskies remain the only unbeaten Treaty team after confident wins against Moy Tolka Rovers, Marble City Hawks and Celtics.
After an extremely disappointing 2022 season, Huskies have come out of the blocks quickly in their opening games and have been aided by the return of Orlaith Woods bolstered by young guns Sophie Moore and Sarah Brazil.
They now face stiff competition in St.Pauls Killarney at home on Saturday, October 21 at 5:00pm in St.Munchin's college.
Limerick Celtic's ladies team suffered a 72-59 loss to rivals Huskies and will hope to get a victory on the road this weekend when they face SETU Carlow on Sunday at 12:30pm in the Barrow Center.
In the InsureMyVan.ie mens National League it was a tight affair between Limerick Sport Eagles and Limerick Celtics over the weekend as Eagles edged a win by four points, 88-84.
Limerick Celtics will be itching for a win after this narrow loss when they face Titans BC on Saturday away at 5:00pm.
Limerick Sport Eagles are also on the road and will go up against Killarney Cougars also on Saturday at 7:00pm.
