Limerick Sport Eagles squad for 2023/24 season
THERE IS a double Limerick derby taking place this weekend in the UL Arena when Limerick Sport Huskies face Limerick Celtics women's team before Limerick Sport Eagles and Limerick Celtics men's team go head to head.
Huge crowds are expected in the arena with Limerick bragging rights up for grabs for the men's and women's teams.
The first game of the evening between the women's teams will tip-off at 4:00pm with Limerick Sport Huskies going into the game as favorites with two wins from two in the MissQuote.ie national league against Moy Tolka Rovers and Marble City Hawks.
Despite their winning form they will be up against strong competition in Limerick Celtics women's team who will be looking to put their 58-47 loss to St Pauls Killarney last weekend behind them.
The men's local derby between Limerick Sport Eagles and Limerick Celtics men's team will get underway at 7:00pm and is expected to be a huge battle, given the exciting contests last season.
Limerick Celtics have gotten two wins in their opening games of the InsureMyVan.ie national league, while Limerick Sport Eagles suffered an unexpected loss on the road last weekend to Scotts Lakers Killarney.
