THERE WAS mixed fortunes over the weekend for the Limerick national league teams in the second weekend of fixtures.

In the men's InsureMyVan.ie Division one, Limerick Sport Eagles suffered a tough 98-89 loss on the road away to Scotts Lakers Killarney.

Both sides were almost neck and neck throughout the opening-half of the game with Eagles American signing's Kealan Coats and Dakquan Davis scoring 58 points between them.

Lakers just edged past the Limerick team in the final quarter scoring 32 points to Eagles 26 points, giving them the win in a tough contest.

Limerick Celtics men's team enjoyed a powerful 96-73 win at home in Crescent Comp against SETU Carlow. In a spirited match the teams could not be separated after the first quarter at 25 points a piece.

Celtic's Michael Hood and Juan Blanco Martin lead the scoring for their side with 27 points and 19 points each. The team ran away with the game in the closing minutes and ended with a 23 points victory.

In the ladies MissQuote.ie division one, Limerick Sport Huskies maintained their winning ways with a comprehensive 73-61 win against Marble City Hawks away.

There was a good showing from a range of players on the score sheet with American's Scout Frame and Ashley Hart racking up 45 points between them, while home-grown talent Sophie Moore came away with 13 points.

Limerick Celtics women's team suffered a tough 58-47 loss away to St.Paul's Killarney. In an extremely low scoring game, it was Lucy Devoy and Sabhbh Edwards Murphy who lead the scoring with 14 points each.

Celtics only managed to score eight points in the second quarter which ultimately was their down-fall in the game as St.Paul's drifted ahead and remained in the lead for the rest of the game to see out the win.
