Dorking’s Jason Prior saw his late penalty saved as his side were held to a goalless draw at Meadowbank by Eastleigh.
Eastleigh goalkeeper Joe McDonnell saved Prior’s 79th-minute spot kick after the Dorking striker had been brought down by visiting midfielder Nigel Atangana.
Prior had earlier gone closest for his side when his effort clipped the woodwork in the 20th minute before Sebastian Bowerman fired over from the rebound.
Eastleigh thought they had taken the lead two minutes earlier when Scott Quigley headed home Chris Maguire’s cross, but the effort was ruled out for a push during the build up.
Dorking goalkeeper Harrison Male produced a smart save to keep out Charlie Carter’s shot just before half-time and Bobby-Joe Taylor fired wide for the hosts in the second period after running clear on goal.
