TREATY United manager Tommy Barrett felt his side had been better than high-flying Waterford FC in their rearranged SSE Airtricity League First Division fixture at the Markets Field on Monday night.

Treaty hit back from 0-2 down to secure an exciting draw with Waterford thanks to two goals from Success Edogun.

The result leaves Treaty just four points adrift of the promotion play-off places with eight games remaining.

Manager Tommy Barrett was disappointed his side didn’t claim all three points at the Garryowen venue on Monday night.

“I thought we were the better team,” said Barrett.

“It was the opposite to the other night against Kerry where I was disappointed with the performance but not the result. Today, I’m disappointed with the result, but happy with the performance.”

Treaty dominated proceedings for much of the contest.

“I just thought we were playing very well. We got a lot of corners, I’d like to see the stats, I’d say it was like 15 to 3 or something. I think we’d about 24 shots, I’d say they had about five,” Barrett added.

Treaty are currently in the midst of a hectic schedule of games. Barrett’s men will play their third game in a week this coming Friday.

It’s an away trip to third-placed Cobh Ramblers who are managed by Shane Keegan, Treaty’s former Academy lead. Barrett says their Munster rivals they’ll provide tough opposition.

“We’ll go into it fairly confident. Obviously, they’re a really good side, they’re third in the table," Barrett pointed out.

“They’ve some very good attacking players, they’ve really good young players down there as well.

“Shane Keegan’s doing a really good job. We’re hoping to get a win but it’s a really tough place to go.

“We’ll have to try and build on this tonight and hopefully we can.”
