Limerick Athletics - Weekly News Update

COMMUNITY GAMES

SEVERAL Limerick athletes competed in the Munster region finals of the Community
Games held in John O’Sullivan Park, Ennis last weekend. Weather conditions were ideal for the event and Limerick athletes enjoyed plenty of success.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Limerick hurdler Sarah Lavin, of Emerald AC, has  competing in the women's 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest this week. The heats were staged on Tuesday (August 22) evening with the semi-finals taking place on Wednesday.

RESULTS
Declan Guina (West Limerick) was 7 th in the Cork City 10 Miler in a great time of 54:57.

FIXTURES
The Limerick County Senior & Juvenile U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 Cross Country Championships take place in Newcastle West on Sunday September 24, preceded by Intermediate a week earlier in Bilboa.
The Charleville International Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, September 10.
