LIMERICK soccer stars Chloe Wallace, Madison McGuane, Aibhlinn Cotter and Kate Jones helped Ireland's U16 team to a comprehensive 5-0 win over the Faroe Islands on Tuesday evening.

Treaty Utd team-mates Wallace, Cotter and Jones all started the international friendly with Pike Rovers' player McGuane coming on after 70 minutes of play.

In the first of two international friendlies against the Faroe Islands, the home-side got off to a quick start through midfielder Ella Kelly after seven minutes.

The goals continued to find their target with Ella Kelly and Leah McGrath both scoring two goals each and Aishling Meehan finishing off the spoils with a huge win for Ireland.

The Irish U16 team now play the Faroe Islands again tomorrow, Thursday, at 3pm in Home Farm FC and Head Coach Megan Smyth-Lynch will be asking for more of the same from her players, in terms of performance and result.
