Conor Barry, of Treaty United, in action against Shane McMonagle, of Finn Harps, during the SSE Airtricity League First Division fixture at the Markets Field last May
AS THE Airtricity League season prepares to enter it's final quarter Treaty Utd are grappling for vital points to kick-start a push towards the promotion play-off spots.
Tommy Barrett's Limerick senior soccer club have lost their last three First Division league outings and now have just Kerry FC beneath them in the table.
And, next up for Treaty is a trip up the north west coast this Friday night, 8pm, to play a Finn Harps side who lie just above them in the table.
The Donegal side have won both meetings already this season - 2-0 in Finn Park in April and 3-0 in the Markets Field in May.
Treaty journey to Ballybofey on the back of two defeats over the Bank Holiday weekend. That has left Treaty with 12 defeats from 25 league outings and just six wins.
Firstly Treaty were beaten 3-2 by Longford in the Markets Field and then 72-hours later there were six changes in the starting line-up as run-away league leaders Galway Utd were 3-0 winners.
In Eamonn Deacy Park, goals from David Hurley, Wassim Aouachria and Rob Manley saw Galway ease past the Limerick side for a 22nd win from 26 league outings for the John Caulfield managed side.
While Treaty have lost ground in recent weeks they do have a game in hand against Waterford ahead of the final series of nine league games.
But first Treaty seek to get a first win of the season against Fin Harps.
