Upcoming American Football Event to take place in Limerick 

UL Vikings playing in Bowl semi-final win

A LIMERICK college side will compete in a national American football championship final at Garryowen FC this Sunday, July 9. UL Vikings will be taking on Louth Mavericks in the American Football Ireland Division 1 Bowl final at 2pm.

The Vikings beat Rhinos in their semi-final at UL to claim their Bowl final spot. They have previously won three finals between 2007 and 2009 in a different division which was titled the Shamrock Bowl. 

The UL team is made up of 35 players and is coached by Darragh O’Callaghan. On top of the final there will also be food stalls and bars open at Garryowen FC with the second All-Ireland hurling semi-final between Clare and Kilkenny also being shown at the event.
