LIMERICK players played a crucial role on the Munster wheelchair hurling camogie team which enjoyed a fantastic win in the second round of the Martin Donnelly Interprovincial league.
The round took place in Tailteann Hall at Mary Immaculate College with Munster putting forward a senior and junior wheelchair hurling camogie team.
Munster’s senior team faced Connacht in their first game of the series and secured a comfortable 4-0 win over their opponents before playing a must-win game against Ulster.
The Munster team faced a tougher challenge playing Ulster with a much more physical game taking place.
Munster recorded a hard fought win to make it two from two victories before playing Leinster in their final game of the day. Munster again showed grit and determination to come out on top with a 5-1 to 1 -0 victory.
Limerick native Maurice Noonan, was one of the standout players of the day, helping his team to secure the three wins and remain at the top of the table going into the third round in Tullamore next month.
The two junior teams faced Patrickswell GAA Club in highly competitive matches. For many players on the junior team this round of games was their first experience playing for Munster wheelchair hurling camogie squad.
Isabella Sydney impressed, scoring two terrific goals for her side to keep the Sean Fitzgerald Memorial Trophy in the hands of the Munster teams with excellent wins.
