TREATY United will look to boost their promotion play-off hopes in the SSE Airtricity League First Division when travelling to Tralee this Friday night to face basement side Kerry FC at Mounthawk Park, 7.45pm.
Treaty go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Bray Wanderers in the league at the Markets Field on Friday night. The in-form Enda Curran netted the Treaty goal. Kerry FC go into the game on the back of a narrow away defeat, 1-0, to high-flying Galway United at Deacy Park last Friday.
Treaty United manager Tommy Barrett said the side's inability to grab a winner against Bray wasn't for the want of effort.
“It is hard,” he said. “You are playing against good teams. We pressed quite well, and we won a good few balls in and around the middle”
“Willie [Armshaw] gave a couple of good passes, he broke away and gave some good passed to Dean George, but Dean couldn’t get it out from under his feet.
“Enda was unlucky too; maybe that final pass was a little bit too hard. A couple of times we probably could have taken an extra touch, had a bit more control in the middle of the park, but we went 4-4-2 with the wind behind us and we stayed that way.”
Treaty are now five points off the promotion play-off places in the First Division.
