Treaty Utd secure back-to-back league wins with three-goal success at Bray

Willie Armshaw bagged a brace of goals as Treaty United defeated Bray Wanderers in the First Division at the Carlisle Grounds on Bank Holiday Monday

TREATY United made it back-to-back wins in the SSE Airtricity League First Division when recording a clinical 3-0 victory over Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds on Bank Holiday Monday.

Tommy Barrett's Treaty side were full value from this success which was earned courtesy of three second half goals from Enda Curran from the penalty spot in the 70th minute and two more from substitute Willie Armshaw, one in the 88th minute and another in stoppage time.

This was an impressive display from Treaty United who were recording their second league success in less than 72 hours following up on their Munster derby victory over Kerry FC at the Markets Field.

It was a third league win of the campaign for Treaty United who had looked the more threatening in attack before the prolific Curran fired them in front from the penalty spot with 20 minutes remaining.

In team news, exciting teenager defender Darren Nwankwo came back into Treaty's starting lineup in place of Anthony O’Donnell. Elsewhere striker Curran replaced Dean George in the starting XI.

Home side Bray Wanderers made three changes from the starting line-up which played Waterford FC on Friday night. Goalkeeper Alex Moody, defender Len O’Sullivan and winger Callum Thompson all came into the side.

The Seagulls were winless in their last three games prior to kick-off on Bank Holiday Monday although two of those three were against league leaders Galway United and Waterford.

The most recent of which was a 2-1 loss at home to Waterford.

After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, in which Treaty created a number of decent goal-scoring opportunities, the visitors hit the front on 70 minutes when Enda Curran kept a cool ahead to score from the penalty spot.

Home side Bray did create an excellent opportunity to draw level in the 85th minute. Guillermo Almirall created the opening with a perfectly-weighted pass for Conor Davis.

However, Davis, who was clear on goal, was superbly denied by advancing Treaty Utd goalkeeper, Shane Hallahan. It proved a vital save.

Treaty then wrapped up the points in the 88th minute when substitute Willie Armshaw added a second for the visitors slipping the ball underneath the advancing Alex Moody.

Armshaw struck again in stoppage time, showing admirable composure to grab his second of the game as Bray were reduced to 10 players when Cole Omorehiomwan was dismissed late on after picking up two yellow cards.

Treaty United return to league action this Friday night when hosting Athlone Town at the Markets Field, 7.45pm. The home side will be looking to make it three wins on the bounce in the First Division on that occasion.
