The Ballynanty Rovers side which lost out to Newmarket Celtic in the semi-final of the FAI Junior Cup last weekend
LIMERICK junior side Ballynanty Rovers are in FAI Senior Cup action this Easter weekend.
Balla' travel to Cooke Park in Tipperary Town on Easter Sunday to face FAI Junior Cup finalists St Michael's in a FAI Men’s Senior Cup 2023 Preliminary Round clash.
The game will kick-off at 3pm. While St Michael's managed to win through to the FAI Junior Cup final with a semi-final win on Sunday, Ballynanty Rovers bowed out of the competition after going down 2-1 away to Clare side Newmarket Celtic.
A goal with ten minutes remaining by Irish Junior International centre forward Eoin Hayes was the difference between the sides in a tight game with nothing between the sides.
Newmarket Celtic went in front on 15 minutes when Dean Hegarty fired home. Balla' had equalised just before half time when Gbadebo Habideen centred for Adrian Power who finished from 14 yards.
