Limerick set to host showpiece FAI Junior Cup final

LIMERICK is set to play host to this season's prestigious FAI Junior Cup final at the end of the month.

The final between Newmarket Celtic, of Clare, and St Michael's, of Tipperary Town, will be played at Jackman Park on Saturday, April 29 at 5pm.

Newmarket Celtic ended hopes of a Limerick side reaching this year's final when edging past Ballynanty Rovers 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

St Michael's booked their final place with a 2-1 semi-final win over Gorey Rangers, of Wexford, also at the weekend.

Saturday April 29 will be a bust day for big sporting fixtures in Limerick. John Kiely's Limerick senior hurling side host Clare in a big Munster senior hurling round robin fixture at the TUS Gaelic Grounds that same evening at 7pm.
