TREATY United continued their build-up to the start of the new SSE Airtricity League First Division season with an exciting 4-3 victory over Ringmahon Rangers, of Cork, after extra time in their Munster Senior Cup quarter-final played at Ringmahon Park on Saturday afternoon.

A hat-trick of goals from last season's top scorer and a first half effort from Lee Devitt sent Tommy Barrett's side into the last four of the competition. The sides had been tied 3-3 at the end of 90 minutes.

Treaty had led 3-1 at half-time in normal time, with goals from Devitt on four minutes, Curran with the first of his ha-trick from the penalty spot eight minutes later, while the striker added his second mid-way through the opening half, scoring with a precise diving header from a Marc Ludden corner.

Saturday's game saw a first competitive appearance for Ryan Connolly in Treaty United colours. Connolly, who joined Treaty from Finn Harps, brings a wealth of experience including over 150 Premier Division appearances, a Premier Division winners medal as well as appearances in the Europa League qualifying stage.

Treaty's match-day squad on Saturday also included five academy players who were included on the substitutes' bench.

On Saturday morning, a youthful Treaty United squad lost out 7-1 to Shamrock Rovers in another pre-season fixture at the Roadstone Grounds in Dublin. The Treaty United squad included nine current academy players and an academy graduate. Jake McNamara grabbed the Treaty goal in the second half of the game.

Treaty United are set to continue their busy schedule of pre-season fixtures with a trip to Dublin next weekend. Treaty are set to play Damien Duff's Shelbourne on Saturday next, February 4, before their final pre-season outing against a Limerick District League selection on February 10 to mark the 50th anniversary of Jackman Park.

Treaty's First Division season begins with a home fixture against Bray Wanderers on February 17.
