THERE were just two Limerick wins on a disappointing day for the local top flight clubs as the All-Ireland League resumed with a full round of fixtures on Saturday.
Saturday's fixtures were the reverse of the previous series of games in the league.
In Division 1A, Young Munster dropped to sixth place in the table after suffering a 21-11 defeat to table toppers Terenure College at Lakelands.
Munsters' had defeated 'Nure in their previous fixture in the AIL to end the Dubliners unbeaten start to the campaign.
The Limerick side trailed their hosts 6-14 at half-time in Dublin, the Clifford Park side's points coming courtesy of two Evan Cusack penalties. Dan Walsh scored a try for Munsters' after the break which proved their only score of the half. The game also doubled up as a Bateman Cup semi-final tie.
Next up for Munsters' is a crucial home derby fixture meeting with Shannon at Tom Clifford Park on Saturday next, 5pm.
Also in Division 1A, Shannon sit in ninth place in the table after succumbing 34-24 to Lansdowne at Coonagh on Saturday afternoon.
The Parish side trailed by nine points at half-time, 3-12, their points coming courtesy of a Mike Cooke penalty.
In the second half Shannon were awarded a penalty try, while Colm Heffernan and Luke Rigney also dotted down. John O'Sullivan kicked the home side's remaining points.
Ninth-placed Shannon sit in the relegation play-off position in the table, but are edged out of eighth place and safety on mere points difference.
Meanwhile, Garryowen's search for a first win of the campaign goes on after the Light Blues lost out 13-19 to Clontarf at Dooradoyle in Division 1A. Garryowen, who trailed 5-14 at half-time, had tries from Jamie Shanahan and Oli Morris, while Tony Butler kicked a penalty for the Light Blues.
Garryowen are now 15 points off safety in the Division with eight games to go.
Elsewhere, in the League, Old Crescent jumped up to sixth place in Divison 2A after the Rosbrien side scored a hard fought 18-17 victory over Dolphin at Takumi Park.
A last-minute penalty from Ronan McKenna earned Old Crescent the win. Crescent were awarded a penalty try and Jack O’Mahony also dotted down for the winners.
Also in 2A, UL-Bohemian, who recorded their first win of the campaign when defeating MU Barnhall at UL last weekend, suffered a 42-29 defeat to the same opposition at Parsonstown on Saturday.
UL-Bohs did pick up a try bonus point in the game.
Bruff were the second Limerick club to record a victory on Saturday when securing a 22-13 victory over Midleton at Kilballyowen Park to complete a home and away league double over the East Cork side.
Jack O’Grady, Eamonn Costello, and Andrew O’Byrne scored tries for Bruff. Paul Collins converted two of the tries and also added a penalty for the South Limerick side.
