The University of Limerick's UL@Work team will launch a one-of-a-kind Master's programme later this month, designed for working professionals who want to take their careers to the next level and gain the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their chosen field.

The Master of Professional Practice is a part-time, flexible, and customisable programme combining three Professional Diplomas over five years across multiple disciplines. Professionals can stack programmes across disciplines of interest and value, from Data Analytics and Strategic Leadership to Data Communications and Law and Technology. This allows for a highly-tailored learning experience specific to personal goals and interests. Whether working professionals wish to advance in their current field or pivot to a new role, this new programme provides the practical skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed.

Professor Ann Ledwith, Project Lead for UL@Work, said: “University of Limerick's new Master of Professional Practice is the first of its kind in Ireland. It allows working professionals to build an interdisciplinary master's award that aligns with the skills they need to develop their careers. For example, we have learners working in aviation who might also be interested in improving their skills in Lean or IT professionals who want to learn more about Data Analytics but also need to develop skills in management. This approach is very much in demand by industry. It supports developing 'T-Shaped' professionals with two or more areas of deep expertise and broad transversal skills."

The Master of Professional Practice offers a diverse range of programmes and experiential learning opportunities, complete with industry-relevant projects and networking events. These opportunities help working professionals develop the skills and connections needed to succeed in their chosen fields.
