About the Role

A leading position in the Leitrim Observer and Leitrim Live, this is a reporters’ role in one of the top local newsrooms in the country. With a digital first strategy and a prevalent newspaper published every week, you would have a keen understanding and knowledge of local government, the district courts and environmental issues. You must be able to bring news to the local community, and beyond, authoritatively and accurately. A third level qualification in a suitable course is essential.

The preferred candidate should have suitable experience in a similar role, and demonstrate a strong work ethic, understanding the needs of flexibility. The drive to break the news, and to be first with the story, would make this a compelling role.

About you

We are looking for a self-starter who can:

• Demonstrate excellent reporting skills and deliver fresh and engaging content

• Engage our fast-growing online audience through the use of video and audio

• Use Social Media in a dynamic way to distribute and source news, helping to grow our online community.
