Limerick sides face crunch Munster Schools Cup fixtures in Cork

TWO Limerick schools are on the road this Wednesday as both St Munchin's and Crescent College Comprehensive travel to Virgin Media Park - with Bandon Grammar School the opposition for both sides in Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cup action.

In the Pinergy Munster Senior Schools Cup semi-final, Munchin's take on the West Cork side at 12.45.

The Limerick side reached the last four after a thrilling 14-10 win in the qualifier replay over Crescent College. Crescent's senior side subsequently fell to Christian Brothers Cork in the quarter-final leaving the Corbally side the sole Limerick school left in the senior cup.

The Andrew O’Byrne-coached side are bidding to reach the decider for the first time since 2012.

CBC take on old rivals Presentation Brothers College in the second semi-final on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Crescent College are in Munster Junior Schools Cup quarter-final action, also against Bandon, kicking off at 3pm.

The Limerick school were 34-21 winners against Kinsale in their opening round of the Cup stage of the competition.
