RESILIENT Castletroy College produced a storming comeback to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup after recording a dramatic 24-19 victory over Rockwell College in their eliminator fixture played at Fethard Town Park on Wednesday afternoon.
Castletroy, who had beaten local rivals Ardscoil Ris in their previous outing, looked to be facing an uphill battle when trailing their Tipperary opponents 0-19 at half-time.
However, the Newtown students produced a powerful second half comeback scoring four tries, including the decisive final score in injury time, to book their place in the quarter-finals proper.
The quartet of second half tries were scored by number eight Conor Ryan, flanker Jordi Frigola Ward, winger Ben Kiely and by centre Robert O'Donnell.
Out-half Cormac Devitt also added two conversions.
