MUNSTER Rugby's Simon Zebo had always stated that he wanted to go out on a high and after having one of his most impressive seasons to date the former Cork Constitution back will be retiring after a great run of games.

Speaking at the Munster press conference during the week Zebo stated: "Heading into the start of this season I would have had a feel for where the body was at and some advice I have gotten through the years, sometimes when you know you know and I always had that gut feeling that I wanted to go out on a high with 34 years-old being a good age to call it so it's funny how it's all unfolded."

With his incredible run this season, playing back-to-back games for the club, Zebo will go out as Munster's record try-scorer with 72 in 173 appearances to date.

The province are now in with the opportunity of possibly winning their second URC title in a row as they take on Ospreys in the quarter-final of the competition on Friday, June 7 at Thomond Park.

Touching on the possibility of winning another URC title with the club Simon Zebo went on to say: "It would be a massive deal to win a URC title. Obviously with my health last season I wasn't able to impact the games and the team as much so making myself available for as much as possible this year has been great.

"I know how much Keith Earls treasures that URC win was last season when he retired so I would love to go out on the same right as that. I know it is very cliche of me to say but we are really not looking past Ospreys this week."

Munster's vital clash against the Welsh side will be streamed live on RTÉ 2 from 7pm on Friday evening.
