Limerick sides face crunch Munster Schools Senior Cup ties as St Munchin's go 'second-chance' route

This is a busy week for Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup fixtures

TWO Limerick schools face make-or-break Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup fixtures in Cork this Wednesday afternoon.

Glenstal Abbey take on Rockwell College at Virgin Media Park, 12.45pm, in the first of the day's quarter-final eliminator fixture.

Glenstal defeated Villiers School 27-3 in their first round fixture earlier this month to advance to their meeting with Rockwell.

In the day's second quarter-final eliminator fixture at Virgin Media Park, Ardscoil Ris face Bandon Grammar School at 3.15pm.

Ardscoil edged past local rivals Castletroy College 11-10 in their opening round fixture at Liam Fitzgerald Park earlier this month.

The winners' of today's two games at Virgin Media Park will advance to the quarter-final proper of the competition.

St Munchin's College will also be involved in quarter-final action following their 15-5 defeat to CBC, of Cork, in their semi-final qualifier at Virgin Media Park on Tuesday afternoon.

In difficult playing conditions, Christians led 12-0 at half-time. After the Leesiders moved 15-0 to the good following the restart, St Munchin's did hit back with a try from Oisin Minogue.
