In Pictures: Fans celebrate as Árdscoil Rís reach quarter-finals of Junior Cup with Limerick derby win over Glenstal

ÁRDSCOIL Rís are into the quarter-finals of the Munster Schools Junior Cup following a 24-5 victory over Glenstal Abbey at Thomond Park.

Tries from Darragh Leydon, Aaron Kelly, James Butler and Leo Connolly saw the North Circular Road school to the win. Butler also landed a couple of conversions. Callum Hughes got the solitary response for Glenstal.

Árdscoil dominated the opening stages and were rewarded on 16 minutes when the impressive Leydon dotted down for the first try that Butler converted. That advantage was at 12-0 at half-time when another five metre scrum saw Kelly dive over the line.

Glenstal started the second half with Hughes' try but Árdscoil were soon back in control. A Leydon break off the back of a scrum created space for Butler and he went over for their third try.

A fourth try was added late on by Connolly and Butler converted to see Árdscoil to a 24-5 win.
