Limerick schools eye Munster Schools Senior Cup knock-out fixtures

THE knockout stages of the Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup gets underway today, Wednesday.

During the first half of this season, schools from throughout the province played in a round-robin format in two groups in both competitions to determine their seeding for the knockout stages which begin this week.

In a first round game this Wednesday, Castletroy College make the trip to Cork to face Bandon Grammar School at Musgrave Park at 2.30pm.

The winner of this tie will take on reigning champions Crescent College Comprehensive in the next round.

In this week's other first round fixture, Glenstal Abbey will host Colaiste Phobail Bheanntrai, of Cork, on this Thursday, January 12 at 2pm.

The winners will be away to Rockwell College in Round 2. The other two Round 2 clashes will see Cork and Limerick derbies with PBC meeting CBC and St Munchin’s College taking on Ardscoil Rís.

Meanwhile, in the Munster Schools Boys Junior Cup; Coláiste Pobail Bheanntrai, will take on Glenstal Abbey in Round 1. The winners of this clash will be away to Ardscoil Ris in Round 2.

CBC will meet Bandon Grammar in the first round. The winners will be away to Crescent College Comprehensive in Round 2.
PBC and Rockwell College, , will face each other in the second round while St Munchin’s College and Castletroy College will meet in Round 2 also.
