Dolores McNamara made history when she scooped €115m from a quick-pick Euromillions ticket bought in Garryowen
THE family of Euromillions winner Dolores McNamara have sought planning permission for a huge new general housing and
student accommodation development in Castletroy.
A&G Thomond Builders Ltd, whose directors are her son Gary McNamara and his wife Michelle, are seeking to construct on land situated between the Groody Road and Caislean Na hAbhann over a seven year period.
According to a planning notice, the development will consist of 95 apartments, 22 houses and a purpose-built student accommodation scheme comprising of 309 bed spaces for those studying at third level.

The 95 apartment units will be distributed across four separate blocks of 4.5 storeys, the notice reveals.
They will comprise 18 one-bed units, 74 two-bed units and three developments which will have three sleeping spaces.
The 22 houses are expected to rise two storeys.
They will feature eight four-bed units, and 14 three-bed units.
A creche is also expected to be provided on site.
The student accommodation part of the development will be spread across four separate blocks of five-storeys.
Three seven-bed apartments are planned, with 36 eight-bed apartments.
Mother-of-six Dolores made international headlines in 2005 after scooping €115m from the Euromillions.
She had purchased a €2 quick-pick ticket from her local shop in Garryowen.
