BOHER was buzzing yet again for its 12th annual charity cycle in honour of the late Ciara McCarthy.
The event keeps the memory of the seven-year-old alive, who sadly passed away in 2013 after an illness bravely borne.
It also raises money for Cliona’s Foundation, who helped to support the McCarthy family during Ciara’s illness. The €5,000 raised this year means they are just shy of the €50,000 mark.
Over 160 men, women and children left Boher Community Centre for a cycle around the surrounding countryside. On their return, the wonderful ladies committee served hot tea and coffee and homemade cakes.
Boher Community Development Association wishes to sincerely thank all who participated in the cycle and made contributions, marshals, stewards, Red Cross, Johnny Skehan, Brendan Quirke, Herbie Power and ladies committee.
A cheque will be handed over to Cliona's Foundation who provide help to families dealing with a financial crisis while caring for a seriously sick child.
