Passionate about retail responsibility - local Limerick shop partners with sustainable fashion brand

“PASSIONATE for responsible retailing”, is how one local Limerick shop feels and this belief encouraged them to do something about it, to make their passion known.
EUROSPAR Rathkeale is supporting what is the world’s largest sustainable fashion competition for young people, Junk Kouture. The new partnership will help to spread the message of living sustainably.
Junk Kouture is a television fashion competition for 13-18 year old school students, where participants design, create and model fashion, made from recycled items.
The competition has run in Ireland, since it was founded in 2010 and the final is held in Dublin each year since 2015.
Derek Downes of EUROSPAR Rathkeale said: “All the team in EUROSPAR Rathkeale are passionate with regard to our commitment to responsible retailing and we are focussed on providing sustainable grocery shopping experiences to the local community.
“We are thrilled that our nationwide network of EUROSPAR Supermarkets have partnered with Junk Kouture, which will help raise awareness around food waste and drive behavioural change amongst consumers in relation to recycling.”
The 2023 final will be held in 3Arena, Dublin on May 4, where 80 design teams from secondary schools across Ireland will battle it out for one of 10 places up for grabs to represent Ireland at the next Junk Kouture World Final.
