Gabally and Na Piarsaigh battle for Intermediate title

The Halloween final has a 1pm lunchtime throw-in in Kilmallock
JUST six days after the disappointment of the club hurler’s county final defeat, Na Piarsaigh are back on the trophy hunt on Saturday when they take on Galbally in the Griffin’s Coaches Intermediate Football Championship final.
The Halloween final has a 1pm lunchtime throw-in in Kilmallock.
The Caherdavin men had three wins and a draw in their five group matches, a defeat to St Senan’s not enough to knock them off second place in the round robin standings.
They easily dispatched of St Patrick’s in the quarter-final before prevailing in the semi-final after a penalty shootout win over Cappagh.
While the club will be dejected after the SHC final last week, the club’s footballers will take note of the curtain raiser last Sunday - as Dromin-Athlacca bounced back from senior relegation at the first time of asking, winning the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship. The men in sky blue will be looking to emulate that on Saturday.
For Galbally, since a three-point defeat to Cappagh in round 1, they have put together six victories on the bounce to reach this second tier final.
Subsequent wins over west Limerick duo Gerald Griffins and Dromcollogher-Broadford have the men in black and white just 60 minutes away from a return to senior football.
