Darragh Horgan, Ella Carroll and Denis O'Brien who will all be representing Ireland at this weekend's European Open Water Junior Swimming Championships in Corfu, Greece.
THREE PROMISING young Limerick swimmers are chasing medals this weekend when they take part in the European Junior Open Water Championships.
Ella Carroll, Darragh Horgan and Denis O'Brien travel as part of an eight strong Irish team to Corfu, Greece to compete in the prestigious competition. All three are based in the National Swimming Centre at the University of Limerick.
Carroll is swimming in the Women’s 10km (18/19 years), Horgan in Men’s 7.5km (16-17 years) while O'Brien is also in the same discipline.
Horgan and O'Brien are in action on the first day of the competition, which runs from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1. They race at 2pm. Carroll competes tomorrow.
It's the second time that O'Brien has represented Ireland this year after he was part of the team that travelled to the European Youth Olympic Festival in Maribor, Slovenia.
