Man who died in Christmas Eve crash named by police

Police have named a man who was killed in a Christmas Eve road crash in Co Down as John Hanna from Downpatrick.

The 34-year-old died after the single-vehicle collision on the Downpatrick Road in Ballynahinch shortly before 4.45pm on Tuesday.

The PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the collision.

Officers have appealed to anyone who saw a grey Volkswagen Polo in the area or who may have captured dashcam or other footage that could assist with police inquiries to come forward.
