Limerick GAA host Q&A on new Gaelic Football rules

LIMERICK GAA will host a Questions and Answers session in the Woodlands House hotel in Adare this Wednesday evening at 7pm. 

Former Clare senior football manager Colm Collins who is also member of Jim Gavin's FRC committee will be in attendance at the December 18 event. 

Collins will be available to answer questions on the night. The purpose of this meeting is to educate players, coaches, management and club officers on the new rules in Gaelic Football.

Some of the new Gaelic Football rules include. 

1 v 1 throw-in at the start of the match rather than two midfielders on each team competing for the ball in the middle of the pitch. 

Solo and go if a player is fouled immediately they now have the option to Solo and go and play on staright away.

All teams must now keep three forwards up at all times. 

The new mark has been introduced whereby a player can now claim a mark inside the 20 metre line if the ball is kicked outside the 45 metre line. 

Two points are now rewarded for any points kicked outside the 40 metre Arc.
