FORMER Limerick goalkeeper Barry Hennessy is to dip his feet into club management after taking the helm at Kerry club Lixnaw for the 2023 season.

The Kilmallock man has confirmed his appointment to the role and is to link the managerial role with his playing duties with the Balbec.

Hennessy retired from inter-county action in the aftermath of Limerick's 2022 All-Ireland win. The four time Liam MacCarthy winner has also won for county titles and one Munster crown with Kilmallock.

He follows fellow notable Limerick natives Eamonn Cregan and the duo of Ciaran Carey and Mark Foley in taking over the famed Kerry hurling club.
