Gardai are investigating after a man was shot dead in Dublin.
The incident happened in Ronanstown in the Clondalkin area in the south-west of the city at about 10pm on Monday night.
The victim, who was in his 30s, was sitting in a car outside a house in Harelawn Park when he was targeted.
He was shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were emotional scenes as distressed relatives gathered at the cordon and his body was removed by private ambulance on Tuesday morning.
A major forensic investigation by members of the Garda Technical Bureau is continuing at the scene.
Several vehicles were covered by forensic tents to facilitate the Garda examination.
Gardai have appealed for anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the shooting to come forward.
They also urged motorists who might have captured dashcam footage in the area to make it available.
The fatal shooting was the second of two incidents involving guns in Dublin on Monday night.
Earlier, a man was taken to hospital after being shot in Finglas, in the north of the city, at about 9pm.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, gardai said.
