Rest in Peace Freya
Tributes have poured in following the tragic death of a young woman from Wicklow who passed away at home on the weekend last.
Freya Keegan Cullinan passed away at her home on Saturday, 31st January 2026 and she is deeply missed and forever cherished by her loving mother Leona, father Ciaran, brothers Ben and Aaron, her sister Síofra Mamie and her beloved dog Boo Bear.
She was the light of her Grandad and Nana lives, Brendan and Anne. Freya’s memory will be lovingly held in the hearts of her aunts, uncles, cousins, grand cousin, extended family, her many friends and fur baby friends.
A funeral has been arranged for Freya who will be reposing at her home on Thursday evening, 5th February from 5pm to 7pm.
Donations if desired can be made to Dogs Trust on Freya's behalf.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, 6th February, at Wicklow Church of Ireland, Church Hill, Wicklow. This will be followed by a cremation for family and close friends at 1:30 pm in The Garden Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6W.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Freya, with one mourner writing,
"It is without a doubt that such a devastating loss is felt within the nursing community in Trinity College. I never met this beautiful soul but her career choice has led me to believe she had a caring heart and soul with such a bright future ahead of her.
"My thoughts and prayers lay with her family, friends and all who knew her as they navigate through this extremely hard time.
"Freya Keegan Cullinan, although your time was short, I thank you for your hours of compassion, kindness and help you gave to care for others. You will be remembered".

Another message said, "We will treasure forever our wonderful memories of our special Frey Frey. First best friend and birthday twin to Evie. Gorgeous memories of happy childhood days for our fabulous girls. May she rest in peace. We are truly heartbroken for you all. Such a warm and loving family.
"Freya's goodness shone through, she will never be forgotten. We were truly privileged to have known and loved her".
"Our hearts are broken for Freya's family. She was a truly special young woman and loved by so many people. Freya, thank you for all your kindness and the wonderful legacy you leave, and may you now rest in the peace of Christ," another mourner said.
Freya's former school paid tribute to her by writing: "The student body, staff and Board of Management of East Glendalough School are deeply saddened by the loss of Freya.
"Freya was a very caring, exemplary student and wonderful Prefect during her time in EGS. She was held in very high regard by both staff and students, and her loss is felt profoundly throughout the entire school community.
Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with her parents, siblings and extended family at this very difficult time".
