Pedestrian dies following crash in Co Kildare

A man has died following a road crash in Co Kildare.

The man, aged in his 40s, had been a pedestrian in the collision with a car on the Monasterevin Road at around 6pm on Tuesday.

A Garda spokesperson said the man was pronounced dead at the scene, and that no other injuries had been reported.

They said a technical examination will be conducted by forensic collision investigators.

“Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them,” they said.

“Any road users, who may have camera footage, including dashcam, and were travelling in the area between 5pm and 6.30pm this evening are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardai.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Kildare Garda Station on 045 527730, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
