It was meant to be a wholesome morning cook-along, but things went hilariously wrong on Ireland AM when Elaine Crowley's smashed avocado segment descended into chaos.
The Virgin Media presenter was attempting to whip up sourdough with smashed avocado, chilli flakes, smoked salmon and poached eggs live on air when disaster struck.
"What I am making today is smashed avocado with chilli flakes on sourdough with a poached egg and smoked salmon on the side," she began confidently.
But the calm soon gave way to panic as she admitted, "It's the only thing up till now I was able to cook. Obviously, I'm having a bit of a blind panic now."

The crucial poached egg step pushed things over the edge. Co-host Síomha Ní Ruairc said: "I actually don't poach eggs, so I have a lot to learn from you here, Elaine. And so what's the trick to, like, do you ever overcook your poached eggs? Is that a thing?"
“Oh, f***, I’ve overcooked…” Crowley blurts, before realising her slip of the tongue.
"Oh, no. I deeply apologise! Please don't complain to the BAI," Crowley pleaded, leaving co-hosts Síomha Ní Ruairc and Kevin Twomey in stitches.
Trying to save the situation, when asked by Crowley if the eggs were hard or runny, Ní Ruairc reassured her: "In the middle. Perfect. Perfect," while Twomey broke into a coughing fit before declaring: "Gorgeous. It actually is lovely, guys. I'm sorry. Elaine, well done. You smashed it."

Just as the segment seemed back on track, another disaster struck.
"Oh, the toast!" Elaine shrieked, opening the oven to a plume of smoke.
With the studio roaring with laughter, Ní Ruairc closed out the segment like a pro: "We'll see you back here in a few. We need a fire extinguisher in the studio, please!"
