The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a recall notice for a popular kitchen utensil from IKEA due to safety concerns.
According to the alert on Friday, June 13, specific batches of the IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL Garlic Press may pose a health risk after "a production error" was identified.
"There is a low risk of small metal pieces detaching during use, and subsequently being ingested with the food,” the FSAI warned.
The recall affects garlic presses with article number 201.521.58 and date stamps 2411 to 2522, which were manufactured in Sweden.

"Consumers are advised to stop using the affected garlic press immediately," the FSAI said.
Shoppers who purchased the item in IKEA stores or online are encouraged to return it or contact IKEA for further information. Further details can be found on the FSAI's website by clicking here.
