Greta Thunberg- 'If you see this video then I have been kidnapped'
Greta Thunberg, a well-known climate activist from Sweden, has released a video to social media prior to her being "kidnapped by Israeli forces".
This comes as Greta and an activist group known as "Freedom Flotilla" were intercepted by Israeli forces while attempting to bring aid into Gaza.
The twelve passengers, including a journalist, a doctor and a politician, are all from France, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Turkey, the Netherlands and Sweden and were all on board a boat called The Madleen.
All activists on board The Madleen were taken hostage on Monday June 9 and have called on their countries to take urgent action for their immediate release.
Videos and posts have begun circulating across social media platforms with people advocating for the activists safe return home, with one person commenting, "Everyone should be talking about this".
Another person said: "Their courage is beyond imagination".
Greta Thunberg in a video said: "My name is Greta Thunberg and I am from Sweden. If you see this video then I have been kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces or forces that support Israel."
"I urge all my friends, family and comrades to put pressure on the Swedish government to release me and others as soon as possible".

Senator Stephenson, Social Democrats’ spokesperson on foreign affairs, said: “I would like to commend the bravery and determination of the 12 peace activists who took part in this deeply symbolic humanitarian mission to bring emergency aid to the people of Gaza.
“The safety of those arrested must be fully guaranteed by the Israeli government, who continue to act as if they are immune to international law and have shown they are capable of anything."
