A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Askeaton, Co Limerick.
The single-vehicle collision occurred on the N69 at Cloonreask shortly before 8pm on Wednesday.
The motorcycle driver, a man in his 30s, was later pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination was due to take place.
The road remains closed for technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators on Thursday morning with local diversions in place.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
A spokesperson said: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling on the N69 near Askeaton between 7.15pm and 8.15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Newcastle West Garda Station on 069 20650, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
