Family of the late Jamie Lee Feane warn against fake fundraiser page

The boy's aunt, Nora, took to social media to warn people of this heartbreaking scam.

A Facebook page has been doing the rounds on social media, claiming to be collecting donations for the funeral service of the late Jamie Lee Feane.

Jamie, of St Dominics' Park in Kildare, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 14, in Crumlin Hospital Dublin.

Just a mere few days after his untimely death, a scam Facebook page was created.

The account, titled, 'Jamie Lee Feane Funeral Service', has no affiliation with the family of the little boy, nor do they know who would do something like this.

In a status posted on the scam account, the person behind the page said, "Donate for Jamie Lee Feane: To send flowers or a memorial tree for Jamie Lee Feane," followed by a link to a PayPal account.

The PayPal account is linked to someone by the name of Md Sumon Reza. It is uncertain whether this name is legitimate, or an alias.

The boy's aunt, Nora, took to social media to warn people of this heartbreaking scam.

She said, "There is a page going around in relation to donations for my nephew, please, please, please, do not donate, none of the family members set up this page and will not be setting up any pages. Can everyone please go onto the page and report it. Thank you."

Those who come across the page, which boasts 43 friends, are being urged to report it to Facebook, and to absolutely not to donate to this morbid scam.
