One of Ireland's biggest pillar banks has confirmed that some of its customers are experiencing delays in receiving and making payments due to a technical issue.
It's not known how many people have been impacted by the issue, which was first report this Black Friday morning.
In a post on social media, the bank stated: "Due to a technical issue with a third party, some customers may be experiencing delays when sending or receiving SEPA payments. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are working hard to resolve the issue and will provide a further update as soon as possible."
There has been angry backlash online with some people expressing concern that they will not receive their salaries on time and may be late in paying bills.
One user described the initial PTSB post as "most generic nonsense" while another said: "Bills to pay prior to this 'expected mid morning' estimate and It's a lot more than an 'inconvenience', stop playing it down adding insult to it."
