"Sincerest condolences to longtime serving committee member Eddie Lonergan on the passing of his beloved wife Siobhán," a statement read.

"Our deepest sympathies to Ed, her parents Eamon and Mary, her brother John and sisters Clare and Angela. She is forever remembered by her parents-in-law John and Bridget Lonergan, brothers-in-law Tomás and Michael John Lonergan and Tommy Cullinan, sisters-in-law Honor Donnelly, Catherine Drahms, Edel Walsh, Donna Lonergan, Catherine Lonergan and Mary Byrne, aunts Anne and Breda, uncles Pierce and Fr. Michael O'Byrne and extended family and friends. A kind and beautiful woman may she rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hAnam dílis," they concluded.

Another heartfelt tribute read: "Ed, On that September day in 2000 when you walked down the aisle in Kilgobinet church with your beautiful, charming bride, Siobhan, I never entertained the thought that one day I might be writing this message of condolence, but life does not make sense and losing someone as young and loving as Siobhan is tragic. Our deepest sympathy to you, Mary, Eamon and all the Family. May Siobhan rest in peace."

A third added: "Sincere condolances to Ed, the Lonergan and Byrne Families on the sad passing of Siobhan. Great memories of Siobhan when she worked in Stafford Miller, a proud Waterford woman who greeted you with a smile, she always made time to have a chat and catch up with the latest news. She will be sadly missed. May Siobhan Rest in Peace."
